The Power of Generosity:
Reshma, a devout woman, lived by Luke 6:30: "Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what belongs to you, do not demand it back." Her neighbour, a busy homemaker, often borrowed ingredients while cooking, never returning them. Reshma graciously provided whatever was asked, trusting in her faith.
A Lesson in Generosity:
One day, while making fries, the homemaker's frustration boiled over: 'Oh no! I have no onion!' Her toddler, taking tentative steps in speech, stammered an unexpected solution: 'Get it from Reshma Aunt!' The mother's eyes widened in surprise, struck by the stark reflection of her own habits in her child's innocent words.
As she pondered her actions, a biblical verse echoed in her mind (Mark 9:42): ' If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.' The weight of her responsibility as a role model sank in.
A Promise to Stewardship:
She questioned herself, 'How could I teach my little one wrong-doings?' and 'What is the benefit of my existence and who is being benefitted from my existence?' The answers led her to a sobering conclusion: 'If others learn evil from us, we harm not only ourselves but others too.'
From then on, she made a conscious effort to model integrity and gratitude for her child, inspired by Reshma's selfless example.
Real Conversion:
Let our bodies not set bad examples or tempt others to sin. Life is a one-time opportunity to convert and become like Jesus, who calls us to:
- Be kind, just as your Father is kind (Luke 6:36)
- Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful (Luke 6:36)
As Scripture says, "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" (Matthew 26:41, Mark 14:38). Through faith, we transform into bodies that reflect God's nature, created in His image as scriptures at (Genesis 1:26-27) states: Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
As image-bearers of God, we're called to:
1. Reflect His kindness and mercy
2. Embody His love and compassion
3. Live a life of righteousness and holiness
May such a real conversion inspire obedience, faith, and transformation!
A Global Concern:
If leaders, officials, governments, and people worldwide embraced real conversion, the world would experience:
Mercy, kindness, compassion, peace, empathy, forgiveness, repentance
Purity, eliminating chaos and disorder
A Sincere Prayer:
May Lord help people understand precious life and one-time opportunity to transform the world. May the entire world reflect Your image.
Amen!
Praise be to God, Thanks be to God.
