A true story:

The principal caught a student red-handed drinking alcohol and using fireworks on campus. He asked the student to visit his office with his father. The boy knew his father was a man of strong values and principles. He hesitantly informed his father, saying only that the principal wanted to meet him.

As it turned out, the father and principal were childhood friends. However, when they arrived at the principal's office, the father chose to wait in line, refusing to enter without permission, despite their friendship.

Once inside, the principal discussed the incident while the boy stood beside, ashamed and embarrassed. The father was extremely embarrassed too, but insisted on punishment, prioritizing his son's reform and asked politely, ‘What is the prescribed punishment for such a horrible act?’

Hard to Digest but Real:

On this, the principal made eye contact with his childhood friend and declared the decree, ‘Expulsion with a bad character certificate.’

Verdict Justified:

To this verdict, the father resonantly spoke, ‘Please go ahead, if you spare him today, you damage a chance of his reform.’ The principal immediately took the pen and wrote him a character certificate and ordered expulsion then he smilingly said to his friend,’ You really love your son.’ On this his father softly quoted the biblical verse (Luke 16:13) which states: "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and wealth." Then said good and a wealth of bad cannot be piled up together.

His father continued, ‘farmer pick dust and sand particles from wheat, no one likes to keep spoiled food in the refrigerator, one cannot ride two boats simultaneously similarly righteousness and unrighteousness cannot share the same heart.’ Therefore, he continued, ‘please write letter for his admission in reform school.’

Life is precious; therefore, it's crucial to identify and acknowledge inner weaknesses, then root them out. No one can do this for others; self-love empowers us to confront our flaws and avoid lifelong unrighteousness.
