The Christian community observes Ash Wednesday to reflect on mortality and prepare for heavenly abode. I advocate for observing Ash Wednesday every day, as death can come unexpectedly. We must ask ourselves daily: "Am I prepared to die today?" In fact, one must not fear anything but only God. If we fear death, we're not prepared to welcome it.
We know death will come quietly. Preparing to welcome it means detaching from worldly desires, keeping our soul pure and holy for immortality. Otherwise, our soul will be submerged in sinful impurities, unprepared for heaven.
"The Bible says, 'You are dust, and to dust you shall return' (Genesis 3:19)." This reminds us to focus on our soul, not our mortal body or worldly desires.
Seeking God's kingdom first, as Jesus teaches, "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:33), meets our needs. Winning over mortality allows the Lord to reside within us, fulfilling bodily needs.
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness" (Matthew 5:6). These individuals cherish life's sacred value, recognizing it as God's gift. They understand only God has authority to give and take life. Thus, they reject destructive paths like suicide, murder, harm and hatred, embracing "Live and let others live."
