Baptism: A Vow to be Spiritually Perfect

A Sincere Request: Before proceeding, please review my previous articles, listed in order, for context. If you've already read them, please continue.

Jesus' Epitome of Humanity:

The worship we practice within the confines of our church buildings, receiving the 'Baptism of Water', is merely an outward expression of our devotion to God. However, if God desires something, it is humanity. He loves humanity so much that He was born as a human to preach humanity. In His worldly human life, Jesus exemplified humanity by expressing immense love for human beings, preached real humanity, and finally sacrificed His life for humanity. His ultimate expression of humanity is as recorded in the scripture:

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." (John 15:13, NIV)

However, humanity did not understand Jesus' humanity, which was marked by ultimate humility. Instead, they jumped out of the boundary of their churches and killed the preacher and epitome of humanity mercilessly

Brutality with Humanity:

This is the assassination of humanity, which continues even today. Therefore, God desires repentance from those who have assassinated humanity, through physical weapons and/or sinful attitudes, as recorded in the scripture:

"When you spread out your hands in prayer, I hide my eyes from you; even when you offer many prayers, I am not listening. Your hands are full of blood!" (Isaiah 1:15, NIV)

On one hand, we practice ritualistic worship within the boundaries of our physical church. On the other hand, we are far from showing compassion to the entire humanity, the very creation of God, who is the epitome of humanity, as recorded in the scripture:

"Because they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord and what his hands have done,…"(Psalm 28:5, NIV)

Ensuring Adoration Acceptable to God:

To truly worship God, we need to embrace Jesus' humanity, the ultimate sacrifice for humanity. We must prove our humanity, just as Jesus did. This requires filling ourselves with absolute humanity, as Jesus exemplified. However, this is only possible by moving beyond superficial worship within the confines of our physical church. We must break free from our selfish and narrow mindset.

As the scripture reminds us, "You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you: ‘These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.'" (Matthew 15:7-9, NIV)

Trinity Longs its Expansion:

The Trinity, driven by its divine humanity, yearns to unite to become one with each one of us, expanding in increasing order - four, five, six, seven, and so on. However, through the 'Baptism of Water,' our union is limited to a handful of church members. Likely, we even fail in this endeavour, hindered by our tendency towards conflict and division.

To form a Quaternity in Trinity, we need to step out of the boundary of our physical church, walk through the divine humanity, to reach the Garden of love, to congregate to the divine humanity. As Jesus' guidance is recorded in the scripture:

"If you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift." (Matthew 5:23-24, NIV)

This is necessary, as the scripture reminds us: "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." (John 15:12-14, NIV)

Jesus, the epitome of divine humanity, continuously prays for us, longing for us to accept His teaching on humanity to attain perfect humanity by sacrificing our weaknesses. As long as we succumb to worldly desires and fail to surrender our human vices, we will remain deprived of perfect humanity, rendering Jesus' prayer useless, as recorded in the scripture:

"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me." (John 17:20-21)

Indeed, we need to change our lifestyle, character and negative attitude by overcoming our human vices and weaknesses to attain perfect divine humanity. This will break the evil forces that hinder our progress towards perfect divine humanity, which Jesus proclaimed and longs for us to attain, as recorded in the scripture:

'Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect..' (Matthew 5:48, NIV)

This is because "God is love." (1 John 4:8, NIV) – a perfect love!

Therefore, in the next article, we will delve into Jesus' focus on humanity.
