A Commitment to Obey God's Commandments

Published: 01/08/2023

A Sincere Request: Assuming you have read my previous articles titled " A Commitment to Obey God's Commandments" which are is for humanity, please review them before proceeding.

Jesus’ Commitment to Leading by example:

Jesus leads humanity from the front. He practices what He preaches, living according to His words. There is no gap between His speech and actions:

- When Jesus teaches us the virtue of humility, He demonstrates it by humbly standing a step below before John the Baptist at the Jordan River.

- When He teaches us the virtue of obedience, He Himself is found deeply rooted in the Father's love by obeying His commandments

- When He teaches us to please God, He Himself consistently does what pleases God

- When He teaches us to love God and humanity, He Himself consistently demonstrates love for both God and humanity.

- When He teaches us about fasting and prayer, He Himself is found triumphing over Satan, the enemy, through rigorous fasting and prayer

- When He talks about baptism, He Himself demonstrates it by humbling Himself before John the Baptist to receive ‘Baptism of Water’, and by baptizing with fire and the Holy Spirit

So on……

A Call to Action:

Lord God, manifested in human, leads humanity by example. He walks ahead of us on the path of truth, guiding us on the way of life, as Scripture says: 'My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.' (John 10:27)

Therefore, we must ask ourselves a vital question and seek a heartfelt response: After being baptized, are we truly following Jesus, treading carefully in His footsteps and progressing with caution?

This question is crucial because, although there was no need for the sinless Lord Jesus to be baptized, He considered it necessary to undergo baptism, as written in Scripture: 'Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness.' Then John consented. (Matthew 3:15)

Therefore, It is essential for those who administer and receive ‘Baptism of Water’ to wholeheartedly follow our Lord and Guru, Jesus Christ, so that our baptism does not become meaningless on the Day of Reckoning.
