Dilemma of John the Baptist

Jesus Untainted by Ancestral Transgressions:


Born not by human intercourse, but of the Virgin Mary through the Holy Spirit's grace, Jesus' sacred birth freed Him from ancestral sins, as Scripture states:

'The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So, the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.' (Luke 1:35)

Then, what prompted Him to undergo the 'Baptism of Water'?


Jesus Never Committed Sin:


Jesus consistently pleased the Father Almighty through his actions—seeing, speaking, listening, walking... He was sinless.

As Scripture says:
'The One who sent me is with me; He has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.' (John 8:29)

Then, what prompted Him to undergo the 'Baptism of Water'?


Jesus with Divine Power to Baptise:


Jesus empowered to baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit.

As Scripture says:
John answered them all, 'I baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.' (Luke 3:16)

Then, what prompted Him to undergo the 'Baptism of Water'?


Explore the Mystery of Jesus’ Baptism


Although, Jesus was sinless, untainted by ancestral transgressions and empowered to baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit, why did He opt for the 'Baptism of Water'?

Finding answers to the above significant questions is equally crucial because the most Holy, Jesus Christ, empowered to baptize with fire and the Holy Spirit, stepped into the Jordan River, stood below John, and sought ‘Baptism of Water’ with humility and decency.


Did Jesus Need Baptism:


Although, Jesus Most Sacred and Holy and empowered to Baptise with Holy Spirit and Fire, did not require ‘Baptism of Water’, but stepped in to water, asking John the Baptist for Baptism. Therefore, John the Baptist from his common sense tried to deter Him as the As Scripture mentions:

“But John tried to deter him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Matthew 3:14


Jesus’ Compelling Voice:


John the Baptist, who heard God's voice in the wilderness, became His voice at the Jordan River. When Jesus, the Lord God, personally requested baptism, John initially hesitated. However, Jesus' words resonated deeply:

"Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfil all righteousness." (Matthew 3:15)

John, attuned to God's voice, couldn't resist Jesus' compelling request. He obediently baptized Jesus, fulfilling his role as a prophetic voice.

Why did Jesus Compelled John the Baptist?
